The Tabernacle Symbolism: Zac Poonen

Video message: “Seeing The Real Jesus”

about-zacpoonenIn this teaching message, Zac Poonen refers to 1 Thessalonians 5:23 and Hebrews 4:12 to describe man as spirit, soul and body (minute 21:00).

Later he uses the symbolism of the Tabernacle to illustrate the design of man (minute 34:00).

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body [g]and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Cor. 6:19,20).

God’s Plan of Redemption

Mary McDonough (1863-1962) authored an influential book entitled God’s Plan of Redemption. The book publication on Amazon.com this description:

“Mary McDonough unfolds the mystery of the replaced life—In Christ, the natural life inherited from Adam is crucified and replaced with the uncreated life of God. “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you” (Rom 8:11 NKJV). The forgotten doctrine of our identification with Christ in His death and resurrection is central in the is book, as in all literature of the Keswick movement. This book, published in Boston in 1900 when the author was only 23, went through many editions over the years and was a popular study group text. It was recommended by Watchman Nee, T. Austin-Sparks and distributed in England by Jessie Penn-Lewis’s Overcomer Literature Trust.”

An online edition is at bibleread.online/all-books-by-Watchman-Nee-and-Witness-Lee/book-gods-plan-of-redemption-Mary-E-McDonough-read-online/

This is another testimony of the value on the spirit/soul/body model of man giving clarity for understanding redemption and sanctification.
